COURSE OBJECTIVES

Objectives of D.Ed Programme

The two year D.Ed course is commitment oriented, competency based and performance targeted with the following objectives.

To enable the student to understand the aims and perspectives of elementary education including pre-school education.

To develop necessary professional skills and attitudes especially in handling classes in multigrade and multi-level schools.

To understand cultural diversity and social needs of a secular, democratic and socialistic society.

To understand the factors influencing education, growth and development of emerging Indian society.

To provide necessary knowledge and skills for ensuring quality Education For All (EFA).

To acquire managerial and planning skills needed for effective classroom and school management.

To conduct empirical child study to identify child's innate abilities, needs and urges.

CURRICULUM

Course Curriculum

The curriculum is designed as per the directions of Government authorities and NCTE requirements with latest teaching methods and professional practices.

Theory & Practical Subjects

The D.Ed curriculum includes both theory and practical subjects to develop teaching competency and professional skills among teacher trainees.

There are 10 subjects covering 10 examination papers. Five basic subjects are taught in I Year and five strategic subjects are taught in I & II Year.
